“A game is already in progress”

Somebody is playing, or a game was left open. If you own the board, touch it — that stops the game and releases it. The board also releases itself: an ignored menu times out after a minute, and a question that nobody answers still moves the game along.

The menu appeared and then nothing happened

The dialog waits 60 seconds. Ignore it and the board frees itself for the next person rather than staying stuck on your choice.

“The trivia service did not answer”

The board could not reach the question service. It tries a second time before giving up, then releases itself so you can start again. If it keeps happening the service is down rather than the board being broken.

“No questions returned”

That category has nothing in it. Pick a different one, or use All.

Players say they cannot answer

Check they are close enough to be heard in local chat, and that they are typing just the letter. A stray word around it will not be counted.

The board went quiet after a region restart

A restart resets the board and it announces itself as ready. Any game that was running is gone — start a new one.
