Running a game

Rez the board where people can hear it and touch it. Everything happens in local chat, so players need to be standing within earshot — about 20 metres.

Starting

Touch the board and pick a category, or All for a mix. Then choose how many questions: 10, 20 or 30. The board announces the game and asks the first question straight away.

Playing

Each question appears in chat with four answers. Players type A, B, C or D in local chat — lower case is fine.

Everyone gets one guess per question. Guess wrong and the board tells you privately and locks you out of that question; the game carries on for everybody else. The first correct answer ends the question and takes the point.

There are 30 seconds to answer. If nobody gets it, the board gives the answer anyway. Either way it shows the explanation when the question has one, waits about four seconds, and moves on.

Finishing

At the end the board reads out the final scores, highest first. If nobody answered anything correctly it says so rather than showing an empty table.

Stopping early

If you own the board, touching it during a game stops it, shows the scores so far, and frees it for the next game. Anyone else touching a running board is told a game is already in progress.

Things worth knowing

Only avatars can answer — the board ignores objects, so a scripted noise-maker in the room cannot score.

Long questions are split across several lines rather than being cut off, so option D is always readable.
